Ron Gallagher has an extensive background in physical therapy with over 15 years of experience in the field. He is the owner and operator at Maximum Velocity Physical Therapy, Las Vegas’ only true running specialty clinic and according to UNLV the ONLY true sports PT program. He has over 100 hours of continuing education in the medicine of running/endurance training and advanced manual therapy in Maitland and Mckenzie. He believes that running, jumping, and cutting mechanics are the basis for performance in all sports. He served as assistant cross country and distance track and field coach at UNLV for 2 years. He has also been private coaching for about 8 years with track and endurance athletes from the 800m to the marathon, triathletes included. He continues to consult with UNLV’s track and field program to this day. He has been responsible for the rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and training of hundreds of runners from all levels, amateurs to professional athletes, including several olympians. Ron is a certified USA Track & Field Level I coach (USATF1). He is BikePT certified bike fitter, bronze. He is an Ironman, he has run five full marathons, five half Ironman distance triathlons, as well as, 25+ other shorter distanced triathlons, running events, crossfitter, and Spartan. He is passionate about running, runners, triathlon, and the science of running. He earned both his bachelors and masters degrees from UNLV in 2000 and 2003, respectively. His bachelors degree was in science with an emphasis on sports injury management, while his masters was in physical therapy. He believes that returning injured runners/athletes to their passion is the greatest professional joy he can experience.
